Mom Hacks & Tips for the Overwhelmed Mama

Stay up to date with tips and “mom hacks” that will help you organize Motherhood. Each suggestion will be things you can modify and personalize for you and your family! I will link what I use personally if you want to try them out as well!

Get a calendar and colorful pens/markers (playmate flare pens are my favorite) and this is my third year using the Ebony Magazine Calendar!

Calendars are my visual anchor. I color code EVERYTHING. Payday is written in black, Bills are in red, Appointments are in purple, Events are green, ETC. Whatever works for you but get as detailed as you can. This helps ease my mind because I can see what’s coming up, and then cross off when it done. Also, things that happen monthly, go ahead and fill those out for the entire year!

Get an At Home Laminator!

This helps with so many areas of mom life. I laminate my weekly menu so I don’t have to print a new one each week. I also laminate my kids schedules to make it easier to adjust.

Tip: If you use Sharpie on laminated documents, write over them with expo markers when you are ready to erase, and it will come right off!

Make a “Snack Rack”

First, before creating a snack rack, invest in SNACK sized bags.

Snack size vs. Sandwich size (get those too)

A great mom-hack is to make a “Snack Rack.” The trick is, to get an over the door shoe tree, and hang on your pantry door. On Sunday night, fill the shoe tree with snacks for the week. You can portion this for your little ones that may be home during the day, or the older ones to make preparing lunches easier. It’s a good idea to put non-perishable snacks on your grocery list:

  • Graham Crackers
  • Cheez-its
  • fruit cups
  • applesauce/applesauce pouches
  • goldfish
  • fruit snacks
  • ritz crackers
  • granola bars
  • cereal bars
  • chips
  • raisins
  • juice boxes

Efficiently packing is so important when you have young kids!

This is how I pack for my four children. All you need is:

  • one XL ziploc bag per person
  • a box of Gallon ziploc bags
  • labels
  • a suitcase

Then, you re-use the gallon bags, for dirty clothes as they change out of them!
